The MBTI® Qualifying Program

Class Schedule and Registration

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® instrument is administered over 2.5 million times a year and is considered the most widely used personality assessment of its kind. It is based on well-researched and validated personality theory with proven applications in a variety of fields, including:

  • Organizational development
  • Management consulting
  • Personal coaching for executives and managers
  • Leadership development and team building
  • Counseling for individuals and families

The CAPT Qualifying Program offers the essentials the consultant or training professional needs in order to purchase and administer the MBTI assessment.

The only way to become qualified to purchase and administer the MBTI instrument (other than through specific college credentials*) is to attend and successfully pass the common exam through a licensed qualifying program.

The four-day course curriculum includes, but is not limited to

  • An overview of the theory of psychological type
  • Exploration of the four dichotomous scales that result in the 16 personality types
  • A skill-building session for giving basic type feedback
  • Experiential exercises to reinforce participant learning
  • Discussions of the ethical use of the Indicator

In addition to a model introductory workshop and practical exercises, the CAPT Qualifying Program provides:

  • the fundamentals of type theory, type dynamics, ethical use of the instrument, and interpretation of MBTI results,
  • how to determine MBTI reliability and validity,
  • the basics of MBTI administration and scoring
  • a decision-making model and lifelong development model.

Tuition includes:

  • comprehensive notebook of program materials
  • books needed for the course—MBTI® Manual, 3rd Edition; Building People, Building Programs; Looking at Type®: The Fundamentals; and Statistics and Measurement
